THE CLINIC IS FREE OF CHARGE!  The Cowboys club provides the guns,  the ammunition,  and the instruction.  All you need to provide is your time.  Clinics are open to folks of all ages,  from 12 years on up.   Although geared to the beginner,  the clinic is open to seasoned shooters wanting to try something new.  Of course, Ladies and Youngsters are always welcome.  The most fun you can have legally … with your clothes on!

Plan for about 4-5 hours of instruction.  Eye and ear protection mandatory!  (Please bring your own).   Sunglasses are okay, as long as they provide adequate protection.   Though optional, hats are recommended, as well.

Junior Shooters We have Junior Shooters too!

The Cowboys allows and enourages young people to get involved with our sport! We have a Junior class (ages 15-17) and a Buckaroo class (ages 12-14) for young shooters, who can start shooting with us beginning at 12 years of age.
Juniors must attend the New Shooter's Clinic to demonstrate proper handling/safety skills before being allowed to participate in regular monthly matches. Of course, they must be accompanied by a parent/legal guardian at all times while on the range.

Our sport has attracted a growing number of young shooters, many of whom compete very well against the adults. And the best part ... juniors shoot FREE! Our sport is very family oriented and family friendly, so don't be afraid to bring the young 'uns out!

Range Rules

1. Treat all firearms as if they are loaded.

2. Everyone has the responsibility of being a safety officer while on the range.

3. Eye protection is mandatory; Hearing protection while not mandatory is highly recommended.

4. The Cowboys range is a cold range - no loaded firearms except at the designated loading tables and firing line.

5. No alcoholic beverages until your guns are put away, and you're done shooting for the day.

6. No illegal "drugs/prescriptions/medications" are allowed that impair your ability to handle a firearm safely. Anyone appearing to be under the influence of such a substance will be instructed to put their guns away and/or remove themselves from the range.

7. Lead bullets only! No jacketed or semi-jacketed bullets.

8. Muzzles must always be pointed down range, or in a safe position (up in the air) at all times.

9. Actions on long guns (rifles/shotguns) must remain open, except at loading tables or while at the firing line.

10. Load only the proper number of rounds for the stage being shot.
11. Unload and show clear at designated unloading tables.

12. Do not go down range (in front of the firing line) without calling "down range/cease fire" first.

13. No firearms are to be handled/touched when a down range/cease fire is called.
14. Spectators must remain behind the firing line at all times and wear eye/ear protection.

These rules are not all inclusive. Additional range rules may apply. If you have questions, please direct them to the Range Director.
